Policies
Child safeguarding policy
This draft describes the proposed policy. Management must review and approve the arrangements before publication as a final policy.
Draft - to be reviewed by the Centre's management and legal adviser
Parent or guardian registration
A parent or guardian completes registration and provides written parental consent before a child joins. Learning-consultation consent alone is not completed child registration.
Two adults in children’s classes
The proposed policy requires two adults present in every class involving children. Management must confirm staffing, supervision and how this is recorded before offering the class.
No private one-to-one messaging
Teachers must not privately message children one-to-one. Communication should use an approved group channel or include a parent or guardian.
Respecting parent preferences
Female teachers should be arranged for girls where parents prefer. The Centre must discuss and confirm the arrangement with the parent before placement.
Reporting a concern
Report a safeguarding concern to Centre management through the published contact route. A named safeguarding lead, escalation procedure, reporting contacts and response arrangements are pending approval. In immediate danger, contact appropriate local emergency services.
Recordings and dignity
Children’s information, attendance and recordings must remain private within approved access arrangements. Management must review recording consent and staff guidance before final approval.
